Our area is growing and we welcome residents and visitors alike to take a step back in time, explore our classic toys and enjoy how shopping used to feel!

Our store is located at 1437 Main St, next to the famous Duval’s Seafood restaurant and across the street from the old Kress building. See you soon!

Our Story

Toy Lab is a Sarasota institution and has been a staple of Main Street for over 20 years. It was first opened by the Waehler family in 1999 to serve as a more personal shopping experience than you would find in big box toy stores, manned by people who are passionate about customers and toys!

A series of owners have kept the thrill of the store alive and it was recently purchased by a combo of young families! Our children provide “expert” toy opinions as we cover a wide range of ages. Toy Lab is a labor of love, a landmark of Main Street, and (in our humble opinion) the best toy store in town.
